Jambi and Java

Jambi is the next Qt technology for integrating Qt and Java. When I saw the name for the first time, I couldn't stop wondering. Why is it Jambi? For those who do not know yet, it's also the name of a province in Indonesia, but that province is in Sumatra, not Java.

There are still good places in Java which may make a good name (Jakarta is already taken by Apache), for example Jepara, Jogya (old spelling), Jombang, Jember and perhaps couple of more that I couldn't remember.

At least, it's not Jampi :-)

Well, it makes sense that something that allows coexistence of C++ and Java would be named after a city that is in the neighbor of Java, not Java itself. :)

Ah, the "J" buzzwords continue, and we can continue expecting the next clone called Nambi, that is, .NET + QT :)

Anyway, it's not all about region, isn't. Batik, for instance.

Actually it's nicer to be called jampi instead of jambi, so it's a nice project who make peoples who use it like jampified;D
